Harvest festival seems to be a universal celebration in all culture around the world. From Africa to Sweden and Zambia, people have been celebrating the end of harvest season since ancient time. The Indian and people from the other Asia sub-continent celebrated the end of harvest season with a thanksgiving festival called Pongal Festival.
The festival is dedicated for various Hindu deities. The festivities comprises of a four-day celebration dedicated to Lord Indra the God of Heavens and Surya, the God of Sun. Pongal marks a new beginning and it is believed to ring in prosperity. Therefore, the Hindhus celebrated the Pongal with thanksgiving and much merriment with family and friends.
In the spirit of Pongal Festival, Persatuan Kebudayaan India AUCMS is please to invite all staff and students of AUCMS to join them in the celebration scheduled as follows:
