School of Nursing Orientation Day
The School of Nursing, Allianze University College of Medical Sciences has organized an orientation day for new students and parents of July 2011 intake. The students and parents were invited to School of Nursing building at Taman Seri Serdang, Kepala Batas after the students completed their registration at Waziria Medical Square. The Director of Nursing, Dame Hajah Ramziah Ahmad welcomed all students, parents and family members to the school in her speech. All present were briefed on the nursing program conducted at AUCMS. The director assured everyone that the three-year (3) Diploma in Nursing course is accredited by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and complies with the requirements of the Malaysian Nursing Board. The students are educated in a wide range of subjects including Health Sciences, Nursing Sciences and Practices, Professional Management, Research etc. There is a combination of theory and practice throughout both curricular. In the classroom students will learn theory and skills needed to care for patients. Students will then practice the learned skills before attending to patients in the clinical area. At the end of the successful completion of the program students will be qualified to sit for the Board of Nursing Malaysia licensure examination.
The students, parents and family members were later taken to visit various simulation wards, laboratory and other teaching facilities available to all nursing students here. The parents were pleased to be given the opportunity to view the classes and facilities that will be used by their children. It is hoped that the new students will be able to focus on their study and in the next three years and graduate with flying colours.
