AUCMS Inks MoU With La Trobe University To Improve Quality Of Medical Courses
The Penang-based Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS) and Australian-based La Trobe University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in improving the quality of medical courses in AUCMS.

The MoU was inked by AUCMS chairman Professor Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir and La Trobe University vice-chairman Professor John Rosenberg.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akhashah Khalil, who is also AUCMS Chancellor.

"We will collaborate in many areas, especially in improving the quality of medical courses, introducing scholarship for excellent students, implementing student exchange programme and providing learning facilities, laboratories and medical equipment," he told reporters after the signing ceremony here Friday.

He said through the cooperation, students pursuing a medical course in AUCMS in Penang would also receive a recognition from the La Trobe University.

Meanwhile, Rosenberg said the MoU was also hoped to strengthen the bilateral relations between the institutions of higher learning in Malaysia and Australia.

"We hope that this collaboration will strengthen our relationship with Allianze University College of Medical Sciences and that we can share our knowledge, especially during the student exchange programme," he said.
